Bucket List for Summer Break

The first day of summer may officially be June 21st this year, but plenty of us are already going on vacations and enjoying the sunshine! Summer is the best time of year to start doing the things you love. The warm weather can inspire you to get up earlier and start a routine. Maybe you have a goal to clean up your garden. The lovely weather can aid you in crafting pretty flower beds! Maybe you’d like to get active outside more. The sunshine can help motivate you to get moving.

With summer just right around the corner, it’s time to get started on your summer bucket list. Fill your list with all the things that you love - if you enjoy taking weekend trips to the beach, watching sports, or going to festivals, write those things down. We’ve compiled a list of some of the best summer activities as inspiration to start making your own summer bucket list! Which ones do you think you’d like the best?

1. Take a road trip

Nothing says summer like a classic road trip. Gather a group of friends and head out on the highway this summer to somewhere special. North, South, East, or West, you can always find an amazing spot to travel to!

2. Go to a baseball game

Take me out to the ball game! This summer, cheer on your local baseball team and enjoy the nostalgia of America’s past time. Buy some peanuts and cracker jacks, too!

3. Climb a mountain

Getting to the summit of a mountain can be so rewarding. Pack some trail mix and a few water bottles and take a hike up a mountain near you.

4. Camp on the beach

Pitch a tent and let the sound of the waves lull you to sleep. Bring some yummy drinks and let the party begin!

5. Go to a local music festival

There are all kinds of music festivals all over the country during the summertime. Search your state and “music festivals” online to find one near you.

6. Host a barbecue

Put your grill to use this summer and host a barbecue. Yard games like badminton and cornhole can bring even more fun to the event!

7. Go to an amusement park

Amusement parks are fun for people of all ages. Look for one near you to visit this summer and get your thrill on. If you like to get your adrenaline pumping, this one’s for you!

8. Make s’mores at a campfire

S’mores are the perfect summertime snack. It’s easy to make s’mores indoors and outdoors. If you have a firepit, invite some friends over and have a campfire hangout.

9. See a drive-in movie

Going to the movies is already fun, but drive-in movies are the perfect summer outing! Put a picnic blanket in the back of your car and curl up with your sweetheart while watching a summer blockbuster. What could be better?

10. Go white-water rafting

White-water rafting is a thrilling experience whether you’ve never been or you’re a pro. Take a group of friends and get a rafting guide to take you on an exciting journey down some river rapids. You’ll stay cool on the water, and you’ll have the ride of a lifetime!

No matter what you add to your summer bucket list, this summer will be unforgettable. Don’t forget to take lots of pictures and videos of each activity you complete! And if you have any old photographs, film, or tapes, get them digitized with Legacybox. We’ll take care of your precious memories and save them in a permanent digital format so that you never lose your special summer memories from the past.
