The last thing you want to do is not have enough space for your guests to sit comfortably, so rearrange furniture and declutter as much as possible. This includes making sure your bathroom is up to spec because it’s going to get some heavy traffic.
Tell the Neighbors
This step is only crucial if you’re having a viewing party outside and your intent is to get a bit rowdy. Sure, a bunch of cars parked outside the house or apartment may be somewhat of a nuisance for your neighbors, but that doesn’t necessarily warrant a heads up, unless parking is already tight. Use your common sense and ask yourself, would you want to be informed if it was your neighbor having the watch party?
Preview Your Screening
The last thing you want to do is have a bunch of people over to watch some old family footage just to embarrassingly realize you don’t have the media to play it or it doesn’t work. So be sure to test your tech.
Feed the Masses
Let’s be honest. People are coming over to watch your old home movies and memories, but they’re really coming over to socialize and eat your food. All of it. This may feel like a no-brainer, but make sure you actually enjoy yourself. Sometimes the host of a watch party can get caught up in trying too hard to entertain, not taking time to actually relax and have fun. Don’t be that host. It’s your party, enjoy it!
