Are you looking for gifts for your loved one? Shopping for you loved one can seem a little daunting at times. It can be difficult to find something they want and that they don't already own, especially if it seems like they already own everything. Although a purchased gift can be an awesome way to express your feelings, a homemade gift adds something extra. Not only did you make it all on your own, but you took the time to make this gift for him/her. Here are some thoughtful and easy homemade gifts you can make for your loved one.

1. String Art

This gift is great for decoration in your loved one's home. It may take a little time to complete (depending on the design), but that will only make it 10 times more special. Here's what you'll need:
  1. A wood board or pallet
  2. String (of any color and thickness)
  3. Small nails
  4. Hammer
  5. Chalk
Once you have all of your materials, it's time to start deciding on a design. Whether you want to do a letter, a moon or even a ship from start wars, your string art will look amazing. After deciding your design, begin to sketch out the outline on the board with your chalk. Next, hammer multiple nails on the chalk line of the design. Hammer a circle of 5-6 nails in the middle of the design. Erase the chalk outline with a wet cloth. Then, take your string, tie it around one of the nails and begin looping the string around the outside nails and to the middle nails. You can go over the nails multiple times if you desire the strings to showcase a thicker design. Once finished, tie the string in a not around one of the nails and snip off the excess! Voila! You have now created string art.

2. Picture Coasters

Picture coasters are a great way to show you car and for displaying great pictures in your home. Collect pictures of you and your loved one, your kids, parents, family members and even your fur babies! Here's what you'll need:
  1. Four 4-by-4-inch white tiles
  2. Four 4-by-4-inch square pictures
  3. Scissors
  4. Mod Podge
  5. Foam brush
  6. Felt (any color)
  7. Hot glue gun
  8. Clear spray sealant
First step, select what pictures you'd like to use, resize them on your computer to 4x4 and print. Cut out our images with rounded edges. Next, image (image side up) on the coaster and coat with mod podge. Let dry for 20 min and then coat it again. Once dry, pray the sealant and let dry. Second, cut four small squares from the felt to go under the base of the coaster. Flip the coaster over and hot glue the four squares around each corner of the coaster. And now you have made a picture coaster! The perfect gift for a friend, family member or loved one.

3. Homemade Bath Salts

This gift is for those who just love to soak in a hot bath after a long day. This gift is super easy and fun to make if you have children! Here's what you'll need:
  1. 1/2 cup Baking soda
  2. 1 cup Epsom salt
  3. 1 Food coloring, Purple (optional)
  4. 1/2 cup Sea salt, coarse
  5. 1 tbsp Vanilla extract
  6. 7 drops Lavender essential oil
  7. Seal tight Container
First and only thing: pour all ingredients into a mixing bowl and stir until completely mixed. That's it! Store in a seal tight container or mason jar. It will last up to 6 months. Your loved one will feel so relaxed after using this gift.

4. Penny Key Chain

This one requires a little digging. Here's what you'll need:
  1. Pennies with specific dates
  2. A hammer
  3. A nail
  4. A key chain ring
Pretty simple! Find pennies that have a significant year. For example, the year you met, the year you began dating, the year of engagement, special memory, marriage, babies, etc. Hammer a small hole in each penny and attach to a key ring. You can keep adding pennies as future significant dates come up. It's a gift that your partner will cherish forever. These are all great gifts that your significant other will cherish and appreciate. Receiving gifts that were made by hand and came from the heart just make these presents so much sweeter. Your loved one will cherish your thoughtful gift for always.
