No worries! We'd love to help digitize ALL the media in your collection. We include extra safety item barcodes with every Legacybox in case you have more media you'd like digitized. If you do send in more items, we'll simply invoice you for these items once we check in your order at our processing facility.
Digitizing your analog media by hand is more of an art than a science, so while we can estimate processing times, it varies depending on your order's size and the type of media you send in, in addition to current demand. At this time, Standard Processing takes around 4-6 weeks. We also offer expedited options at checkout if you need your order back faster.

Say goodbye to those slowly disintegrating Hi8 tapes and say hello to the pristine new digital format of your video memories when you convert Hi8 tapes to digital files using our Legacybox Hi8 to digital service.
In 1985, Sony introduced the Handycam, and the Video8 analog video/audio format helped make camcorders smaller and more functional than the bulky VHS and Betamax recorders that had been popular. Hi8 was an upgrade to the analog format by virtue of making provision for digital audio. The “8” references the 8mm video tape (Betamax tapes were 12mm) and the “hi” references the high quality.
Do you have any Hi-8 tapes taking up much needed storage space? About the size of a deck of playing cards, they are half an inch thick, 2 ½ inches wide, and just under 4 inches tall. They were just small enough to hang onto forever and forget about once they went up in the attic or in the back of the closet. How could you have known that forever had a time limit? But it’s true. The precious memories captured on the magnetic Hi-8 tapes from the late 1980s and early 1990s are disintegrating rapidly. They will quickly turn into “Lo-8” tapes, and if you don’t transfer them to DVDs or convert them to digital files immediately they’ll become a box full of “No-8”s before you know it. They don’t make these tapes or camcorders anymore, so it’s important to ensure these video tapes — and the memories they contain — are preserved.
