Packing Your Memories Safely before You Ship

If you’ve just ordered your very first Legacybox, congratulations! You’re one step closer to preserving your memories so that you can relive them with friends and family forever. We’re grateful that you chose us to take care of your most precious items, and we promise to serve you to the best of our ability throughout the entire process, 100% satisfaction guaranteed!

If you’re waiting on your Legacybox to arrive on your doorstep, there’s a couple of things you can do in the meantime to prepare your media for its journey to our headquarters in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

If you’re wondering how to prepare your media for shipment and how to protect your items while in transit, look no further! We’ll dive into everything you need to know about the packaging process.

First, it’s important that you group all the items that you’re sending based on your order. For example, if you ordered a 2-piece Legacybox for your pictures, you will need to separate your photos into two sets of 25 pictures. Each set can be held in an envelope or Ziploc baggie. No boxes, picture frames, photo albums, or sleeves, please! Your photos will be safe as long as they are stacked neatly inside a clear plastic baggie or envelope.

If you are sending in film reels to us, make sure you have the reels packed safely in a film reel container so that the film does not get tangled, ripped, or misshapen. If you have videotapes or cassette tapes to send in, you can send these in cardboard or plastic tape containers for optimal protection.

Once you’ve separated your materials into appropriate groups and containers, you can fill up your Legacybox! The best way to do this is to carefully place your materials inside the box and add packing filling (such as newspaper, packing paper, or bubble wrap) in the empty spaces between your items. This will help minimize the amount of free space inside your Legacybox to prevent your media from moving around during shipment.

We hope this information helps you have peace of mind when sending your favorite pictures, films, and tapes to us at Legacybox. One extra precaution we take is ensuring that the box we send to you to pack your materials in is crush-proof! If you pack your materials carefully, they will arrive at our warehouse in perfect shape, ready for digitization

We’re so grateful for your business, and we can’t wait to get your favorite memories digitized so that you can enjoy them for decades to come.
