Garland of Leaves and Photos

Have your home prepared for the fall season with beautiful garlands of leaves. This super easy and fun DIY craft will bring your home to life, and it will remind you of all the wonderful people you are thankful for this season! Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Real leaves or fake (from your local craft store)
  • Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
  • String
  • Scissors
  • Pictures

    1. Take your string and determine how long you'd like your garland to be. Cut your string to that length. Snip snip!
    2. Next, take your leaves and apply a small drop of hot glue to the tip of the stem. Apply a small drop of glue to the middle back of your photos.
    3. Take string and place leaf (with glue) on to the string, as well as photo. Repeat until your string is full of beautiful leaves and loving family images!
This will look great over your front door, near the kitchen table or even intertwined on your stair banister!

    Giant Spiders

No, not real spiders…don’t worry. This will be the show stopper of your front yard – plus, this is a great DIY with your kids! And (another extra bonus) your yard will be leaves free! Here’s what you’ll need:

    • Large black garbage bags
    • Large rubber bands
    • White construction paper and black marker
    • Leaves or newspaper for stuffing
    • Tape
    • Optional for legs: Black Streamers, pool noodles, garbage bags.

      1. Take your large garbage bags and begin stuffing! Whether you use those pesky leaves in the back yard, extra newspaper or extra grocery bags-anything will do!
      2. Tie up your grocery bag once stuffed
      3. Next, take your large rubber band and tie off a smaller circular shape on the grocery bag. This will be the spider's head.
      4. Cut out construction paper in the shape of eyes and draw in the pupils. Tape on easily!
      5. For the legs, you can use black streamers, pool noodles or cut long strips of black garbage bag to tape on the sides.

Place your creepy crawly out in a tree, right by the mail box or on your front porch for all trick or treaters to see!
